Christmas 2010

Christmas is over. How did you guys celebrate it?

For m3lv, December is quite a hectic month but I love it though :)

Christmas Tree @ Orchard

m3lv first celebration was a week before Christmas!

Family gathering at aunt's place in Klang

We have gift exchange

Its fun & funny!

Its always nice to hang around with family

Pressies for gift exchange

Aunt ordered Jelly Santa

A day before, m3lv went to Pavilion to get the gifts. And for the first time, m3lv experienced "snow" in Malaysia. Its actually more like "its foaming" instead of "snowing".

Snow? Or Foam?

Anyway, in the office, the annual Christmas celebration that we had was Secret Santa.

I've revealed my gift in the previous post!

Then, on Christmas day, m3lv went down to JB with the beloved, her mom & her brother.

Actually, the purpose m3lv & the beloved went down is because we've planned experience a lil bit of Christmas in Singapore! Somehow, her mom tagged along~Lol ..but  she did not follow us.

Pressies for gift exchange!

I think this year m3lv had the most gift exchange!

Anyway, in Singapore,  we met Rocky

The beloved & Rocky

Somehow, he did not spend the whole day except for food, as for m3lv & the beloved, we shop till we drop!

m3lv & Rocky

m3lv & the beloved

My previous trip to Singapore, m3lv did not manage to visit  Marina Bay due to Formula One, and most of the place is closed. But this time, we had a short visit to Marina Bay.

I like that place! Its just so nice  & classy!

Marina Bay

That sums up my Christmas Report!! Lol~

m3lv wish you a Merry Christmas & A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Not So Penang Trip

The beloved asked me to blog about our Penang trip. But I just don't feel like blogging about it. I did went to Penang but the pictures taken don't look like we're in Penang.

The trip was about 2 weeks back. The 5 of us which went to Ipoh last year, this year around we went Penang.

The gang which went Ipoh last year

Alright. Just some summary from our Penang trip.

We stop by Ipoh for brunch at the famous Foh San Dim Sum, man that restaurant is huge! Its been some time since I went there and the last time I went, It was still at the old building located nearby the Ipoh's trademark "Chicken + Bean Sprout" Restaurant.

Some of the Dim Sum that we ordered

The size of the tart, the "har gao, siew mai & etc" is bigger than the Dim Sum shop in KL >< And the price is cheaper too!! Though it looks like we ordered just a few, but we can't finish it either. The portion is too much for us!!Lol!!

We reach Penang about noon. You know what, the main reason m3lv don't feel like blogging about this trip is because 80% out of the total pictures of the trip is.....

The 3 of them == This was in the car

And then in the room == There's more!! I'm just lazy to upload ><

After few hours drive from KL all the way to Penang, relaxing and chilling out in our apartment is a must!! And our way of chilling was

A few games of mahjong to stimulate our mind ><

If you're in Penang, you never wanna miss out the famous fried oyster!!

And the infamous Ikan Bakar?

The Ikan Bakar that m3lv & the beloved had in Cherating was better though ><

There were lots of MUST visit place in Penang and one of them is

The Gurney Drive

This place has never change. I think every night, there will be locals + tourist sitting there wasting their time chilling by the sea.

When you're in Gurney Drive, Its a must to whack the "tong sui" there

Bobo Cha Cha

m3lv had this Bobo Cha Cha. Damn that is nice!! Just loves the sago alot!!

The following day, is our temple visiting day. We visit almost all the famous temple in Penang. Such as...

Sleeping Buddha

The entrance to the temple

The Burmese Temple

In the temple, there's a tree with lots of money hanging and most of it are RM1 note, guess that's the donation from the generous people. Well, we wanted to be generous too!! Hence...

We donate Albert's Gold Card =) So generous aren't we? ;)

The weather was so intense in Penang that m3lv & the beloved decided to get ourselves ICE CREAM!!

Look at her expression!! She loves it!! =D

And then, we drove all the way to the Snake Temple. During our journey there...

again...

and again....

They're trying to invent some new style I guess =="

Anyway, when we reached the Snake Temple, It was raining ==

So we decided to go to the Queensbay Mall!!

Nothing special bout the mall. But there are some nice spots so snap pictures outside the mall!

Penang Bridge

The 3 stooges again. This time showing their butt.

When the rain finally stop. We went back to the snake temple.

Yea, there are lots of snakes!!

Viper!

All the snakes in the temple are of the same species. The viper. Its poisonous but I guess they won't sting you If you don't disturb them. They were sleeping when we went there. The snakes did not move at all == Or may be its a toy that look very real?? No idea.

And our last stop was the famous Kek Lok Si Temple.

The temple is really huge!!

The temple is actually build on a hill. You can actually see the whole Penang Island. Erm..almost whole of Penang...

The pagoda is really high!! We did not climb up though.

The Biggest "Kuan Yin" statue I've ever seen!

That's Mei Yoke, praying to pass all her subjects so that she can graduate ><

After a long day, after done visiting all the temples. We went back to our apartment to relax and chill by..

Playing the mahjong that I bought. Its a mini mahjong actually

See how MINI!! And look at my tiles!! Muahahaha!!

On the 3rd day, we took the ferry to the mainland.

A view from the ferry

And this is our only group pic >< Gosh!!

And while on our way back to KL...

again.........oh my....girls~

Ok~Thats all~BYE!!

Escape à Cherating

Its not the first time m3lv went to the East Coast

The first time was decades back!! When I was in form 2 if I'm not mistaken

And I forgot the place that I went ><

However, this time, It is an unforgettable trip

As m3lv & the beloved went East Coast, to Cherating!!

Its an unplanned trip

As I've got no idea how to go, where to stay, what to do & what to eat ><

Its more adventurous in that way tho

The only thing that I did survey on the night before we went was the resorts over there

In fact, I called most of the resorts late night to check on the rates!!

And I would say the website that help me the most was

WikiTravel

Trust me, Wikitravel do help me alot!! Though not everything about the town is listed but at least that give you some preparations for your trip.

The easiest & fastest way that you could use to get to Cherating is via the Karak Highway which will leads you to the East Coast Expressway

The toll will most likely be RM30.00 one way!!

Its about 2 and a half hour journey so in comparison, its like from KL to Ipoh/ Melaka

We stayed at Ruby's Resort

At first glance, the resort actually don't look like a resort, It look more like the SPCA in Ampang

Resort? For real?

But once you step in, you'll only feel it

Firstly, this resort is design and build by Ruby, the owner of the resort

Its not any 5 star or 3 star resort

Its one of the cheapest place you could stay in Cherating

And you share the same beach with Club Med!!

The place is really quiet and the beach belongs to you!!

You owns the beach :)

There are quite a number of things that you could do in Cherating

Curiosity

A visit to the Turtle Sanctuary

Its next to Club Med & 5 min drive from our resort ^^

And I notice that the turtle have some new swimming style

Michelangelo

So cute can!!With its leg/flapper behind its shell!!

That's where they keep the eggs that they've collect

After visiting the cute turtles, we went to the Cherating River Cruise

The Cherating Mangrove River

Its so peaceful when you stroll along the river

The sound of the birds chirping, the tree leaves rattles, the insects buzzing around

Things that you could hardly find in KL

It is just so relax

Empty your mind and feel the wind

Don't worry about anything, don't think about anything

Ahhhh~I just miss that place!!

This is Mr.Alright, my personal boatman =P He's really informative & he got good eye sight as well

Us!!Enjoying our ride =P

The mangrove forest

The beloved spot something?

A mangrove snake resting

The snake was actually spotted by Mr.Alright. His eyesight really good!! He spot 4 snakes & both of us spot nil ><

But I did spot some thing apart from snakes

Jellyfish!

I spot jellyfish!! Yeap, Its saltwater river!!

Bee Hive

I've studied this before during secondary but forgot what its called already

Do you see mud only? Look carefully at the white thingy

A single claw crab!! Very puny!! ><

Locals out for crab-bing

Houses by the river

After our river cruise

A lady recommend us to try the Ikan Bakar

Dead Fish X(

Bakar-ing our Ikan ^^

The Ikan Bakar indeed was awesome!! Love It!! We actually had it twice!! We went back to the same place to get our Ikan Bakar again for dinner!!

After dinner, we went to watch the fireflies!!

Can't take any pictures because no flash allows. Even if flash is allowed, I don't think I'm able to capture anything =="

The fireflies shows are just mesmerizing!!

Our "fireflies guide" have a way to lure the fireflies

When a bunch of fireflies flew towards you

Its like fairies coming towards you!!

If you've not see fireflies in their natural habitat before

Go try it!! Its AWESOME!!! Ichiban!!

The next day, we woke up early!! To watch the sunrise

Enjoying Our View

Awesome view!!

Choppy waves

Unknown visitor to the beach

Common visitor to the beach ><

Then we saw some locals fishing by the beach

Reach up high!!

I was wondering is there any fish by the shore and guess what?!?!

Holy mama!! A stingray!!

Trust me, Its freaking heavy!! I can't carry it up myself, the guy help me to lift it up!!

Leopard Stingray

Then we walked along the beach

Taking pics of our shadows

of US!!

Sleeping on the sand

And then

Something going on again

Another stingray perhaps?

Gotcha!!

The common stingray

After done relaxing by the beach

Went back to our chalet

Our Chalet!!

When we're about to leave

We conteng the wooden fence

The beloved conteng everywhere!!

Ow~I've not shown you guys how the resort looks like rite?

Here we go =)

A virtual tour to Ruby's Resort

This is the corridor. On your left, you'll actually see my chalet, on your right, there's a rabbit playpen

So we walk straight towards the end

And you could see

Playground for the kids

This annoying fella

Walk back to the front

This is the dining area

Their own bar =)

The beloved enjoying herself

So now, we walk outside the resort towards a tree

And...

Ruby's treehouse

You can see this big tree house!!

The treehouse is actually build by the staffs and sponsored by previous guest who stayed here!!

And next to the tree house

The beloved enjoying the swing!!

And this is Ruby

It was a fantastic holiday for myself & the beloved!!

We enjoyed alot!!

The peaceful & relaxing beach

The hospitality given by the resort

All this makes our trip perfect!!

Ow yea, this resort is very different from others!!

No other place, not even a 5 star or a 4 star or any star that will serve you with this type of hospitality

Go Cherating and find Ruby

and you'll know it =) You won't regret!!

Heaven!!

The place is really like heaven!!

OK~Thats all~BYE!!
